The Wedding Party 2 Not living up to the hype and Expectations of Movie lovers

The wedding party2
It is exactly three days now since the wedding party 2 crept into cinemas. Though  amassing a whooping 20 million Naira on its first day,  much of this could be attributed to the buzz surrounding Banky W (Oluwabankole Wellington) and Adesua Etomi. It should not be up for debate that the film had a much greater prequel. One cannot seem to overlook the creativity, originality and effort put into it. So what went wrong? Had the creators not gotten too comfortable TWP2, destination Dubai ought to be far better than the first movie of the franchise.
Half way into the movie,  I felt 'infact there was no need for the wedding party2. But who wouldn't love to see it after the explosiveness of the foreganger. To cut the long story short, let us take a look at the plot.
The film tells a story of two love birds Deardre (Daniella Brown) and Nonso (Enyinna Nwigwe). Nonso proposes by accident, while on a dinner date and that sets off a chain of intriguing events. The story line is quite cool but the execution is poor. Got me thinking if the director assumed that we had all read the script. To be sincere, it was a bad story telling with great actors and a good amount of money to spend.
TWP2 was quite rigid. Filmmaker was just too careful that it made the movie lose its mojo. There were too many side distractions to the romance and the tale was aiming at screen perfection than a natural appeal. Who would imagine all actors wearing individual mics in a public gathering with no surrounding noise? That is almost like a Pre-recorded Indian movie***laughs.
Like we all know, too many Maggi in a soup is...... That being said, a star-studded movie does not necessarily make a great movie. It can actually kill the flavour if characters are not well tuned and aligned.
It's Christmas for crying out loud and this movie lacks the magic touch. A shadow of its former self. So if you are still planning to watch the movie, just cut your expectations. It can never live up to the hype of the part I.
